work
I am a Portfolio Manager in the BBC's Future Media and Technlogy division, running a team called RAD (Rapid Application Development.)
We work on prototypes (eg mobile broadcast using DVB-H), products (eg cross platform media recommendations system) and services (eg RDF based metadata interchange system.) I blog about our work on the BBC's curiously named Internet blog
Nothing on the site you are currently looking at reflects the views of my employer
outside work
Milkshake.dexy.org (this box) is hosted with Bitfolk.com. I moved away from another colo onto one of their VPS plans, and I'm really pleased so far. Clueful and reasonably priced. Tell 'em I sent ya (referrer: milkshake)
I code, write and edit fiddlesticks.com which is a lot of stuff and nonsense, and am the Webmaster and coder for The High Horse which is a quarterly publication. These sites and others are being migrated onto milkshake (Dec 2008)
I work best with Free Software like PHP, MySQL and Apache
music
In what seems like another life now I used to play keyboards in a pop group called Jack
The Internet ran out of useful stuff so they made space for a couple of our videos
